Why?

GiveRefuge.com was created by volunteers who wish to create a simple way for individuals to directly help refugees.

In response to the Syrian refugee crisis, we found on social media that many individuals wished to do something to assist refugees but didn’t know where to begin.

The process of giving or helping usually requires researching and navigating several non-profit and government websites, sending emails to contact email addresses and filling out detailed forms, without any certainty or timeframe of how or when they will be approved to help. This process can be time consuming and cumbersome as information is scattered across the web.

This is why we started GiveRefuge. We make helping easy by documenting your interests and matching you to the appropriate non-profit in your area. Our goal is to eventually let non-profit organizations and refugees specifically search for their respective needs and match them with the information you have provided, so that they can contact you directly.
